What I Do
About the Studio

The studio is designed for students to become comfortable playing in front of others, and to work quietly on different projects while observing lessons in progress.

Project areas include:
 • Music listening area
 • Computer workstation for
  theory and composition
 • CD and book lending library

The studio is located in a building of artists’ studios. Students perform at artists’ open studios and collaborate with the artists.

Every year there is a workshop given by a musician with a different background and expertise.

Past workshops have included:
 • Avant garde pianist Kathleen Supové
 • Jazz saxophonist Stan Strickland
 • The Boston Composers String Quartet
 • Jazz violinist Matt Glaser
 • Violin maker Robert Childs.
